A standup comedian since 1997, Adam has performed all over Australia, Britain and the USA. He began his gossip queen career as Triple J's Mister Bitch (2002/3) and spent a decade as The Fabulous Adam Richard, part of Melbourne's Number 1 FM breakfast team, the Matt and Jo Show on 101.9 The Fox. In 2014 Adam became a team captain with Ella Hooper on the all-new Spicks and Specks hosted by Josh Earl on ABC TV. Adam has appeared as a guest on such embarrassing ventures as Celebrity Dog School, Celebrity Splash, Hole in the Wall (what is it with all the swimming pools?), and The Footy Show. He has also appeared in more classy fare, like Can of Worms, Chelsea Lately, Rove and Tractor Monkeys. He is the co-writer and co-star of the 2012 ABC TV comedy series Outland, about a group of gay science fiction fans, and a producer and presenter of podcasts The Shelf (with Justin Hamilton) and The Poofcast (with Scott Brennan and Toby Sullivan, aka Talking Poofy). Adam returns to SH17 to co-host the Eat Dinner and Contestant Roasting and if last year is anything to go by the contestants should be afraid – very, very afraid.
Cross Morticia Addams with an 80’s porn star and you have Suzie Ridge - Drag Diva and aficionado of toilet blocks throughout Melbourne. One of states most loved drag queens, the multi award winning Suzie has performed in music videos and on just about stage in Melbourne. Known for her quick wit, bawdy humour and willingness to take the piss out of herself, Suzie is guaranteed to bring a smile to even the grumpiest Bear. Although not the obvious choice as a host for a bear event we can assure you that at 4am and after drinking her body weight in cider, once the girdle comes off and the beards begun to grow through, you’ll see that Suzie is just a bear in a different type of drag. Suzie returns to SH17 to co-host the Eat Dinner and Contestant Roasting and we can’t wait to see what she’ll get up on stage this year.
Never far from the spotlight, Big Bear Mark has been around the bear community for around….. well forever. This loveable fella brings a wealth of hosting experience to the table with radio gigs on JOY 94.0 (Brekkie Bears, The Woods and JOY Eurovision) as well as hosting The Bear Cave and other community events on Channel 31’s Bent TV. Marks hosting experience doesn’t stop there as he has also hosted The Community stage at MidSumma’s Carnival day 2014 & 2015, The Main Stage at MidSumma’s Carnival day 2016, Mr VicBears in 2014,2015,2016 and 2017, Mr Australasia Bear 2015 & 2016…and of course he’s back for 2017! Mark also says he’s hosted Gentlemen callers ….well…until recently. Mark is a great addition to SH17 and one of the long standing members of the VicBears family and we are stoked he’s returning for SH17.
Unfortunately VicBears have to take the blame for this one coz he’s one of our own. Since becoming runner up in the 2016 Mr VicBears competition, Cam has thrown himself into the bear community appearing on The Woods (JOY FM), Bent TV and co- hosting the Mr. Australasia Bear 2016 and Mr. VicBears 2017 competitions. He’s also known for taking his shirt off more often than pole dancer at a titty bar and performing an amazing set of cartwheels down the main drag of Daylesford while marching with VicBears during this year’s ChillOut parade (sorry Thailand – we know you’ve just finished rebuilding). He calls himself Cam D Smith, but we don’t actually know what the “D” stands for? Some say its D as in da like Cam da whore, Cam da tool or Cam da drunk, but we just call him Cam – the loveable cub and a welcome addition to SH17

David is also the resident DJ at VicBears den nights and we're proud to call this cute as a button cub one of our own.
